Acupuncture

acupuncture.jpgAcupuncture is approximately 3,000 years old and may be one of the oldest healing therapies. By definition, Acupuncture is the insertion of very thin, sterile, stainless steel needles into certain specific points on the body. These points are stimulated to balance the energy flow and help the body heal itself.

Acupuncture in our office is not painful, in fact, most people find it very relaxing. Sensations will vary from person to person, however, many people describe it as a slight tingling, pinch or prick. Some people feel nothing at all. Most needles are slightly larger than that of a piece of hair on your head!

Typical conditions usually responding to acupuncture include: headaches, muscle spasms, tennis elbow, arthritis, stomach problems, diarrhea, asthma, menstrual cramps, allergies, and skin conditions. Smoking cessation and weight loss have been common successes with acupuncture as well. Please be mindful of the fact that acupuncture is not like one drug used for one condition, but on the contrary, it is a complete healing art within itself. It is concerned with the systems of the body such as nervous, circulatory, digestive, respiratory, eliminatory, reproductive, hormonal, and musculoskeletal.

We use only sterile, disposable Acupuncture needles, which are small and painless. In our office we combine Acupuncture with Chiropractic for the fastest results. Dr. Manger has treated patients of all ages and various different complaints and concerns. We are now also happy to present Cosmetic Acupuncture; some call it a natural "face-lift". Cosmetic Acupuncture

meizen.jpgDr. Manger uses a technique called Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture. Mei Zen is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and treats the body from the inside out. Each treatment involves the insertion of tiny acupuncture needles into specific areas of the face, ears, neck, hands, feet, and legs. This technique is a HEALTHY approach to cosmetic procedures, comparable to invasive procedures such as surgeries and injections.

On your first visit you will have a free thorough consultation with Dr. Manger, discussing your overall health history, including physical, mental, or emotional issues in your life. She will evaluate what changes you would like to see in your face and skin, and if you are a candidate.

The treatment course consists of a minimum of 10 treatments, which are spaced over a 5 week period (2/week). Each treatment may take up to 1 hour. During the course of treatment, we will assist you in creating a healthy lifestyle with additional herbal support, nutritional counseling, exercise recommendations, and stress reduction techniques. Most importantly, cosmetic acupuncture brings out your inner beauty and radiance and changes are seen throughout the entire body.

There are three protocols to pick from: face, neck and the abdomen.
